Review - The Body Shop 'Born Lippy' Lip Balms.

The Body Shop's 'Born Lippy' lip balms.

Now I have had plenty of these in my lip balm collection over the years and I can honestly say I always forgot about them and probably ended up losing every single one I had!

However, my mum bought these for me for Christmas in a gift box that was shaped in a lolly (how cute?!) So I have decided to try them all out and share my opinions with you lovelies. I hope you enjoy...

This one has to be my favourite. It is the flavour Raspberry. The scent is quite refreshing and not too sickly. When I put this on my lips it's not 100% in your face and you can't smell it too strongly. I don't think these lip balms are very pigmented but this one just makes your lips a bit more pinker and give them a glossy effect. If you are a fan of subtle raspberry scents & a lip balm that is light on the lip and nothing too vibrant this is probably perfect for you. You can check this product out here

This is the Satsuma Shimmer lip balm. I have to say I thought this was going to be my favourite because I love anything that smells like citrus fruits. I was so disappointed when I took a whiff of this scent. It is way too sickly for me, if I smell it more than like 3 times I begin to feel sick. If you are a fan of super strong citrus scents you might like this but for me, I will be giving this to either my sister or mum! I will say it looks very gentle on the lip even though it does have glitter in. If it was less smelly I would definitely use this. You can check this out here

Watermelon is by far the worst one for me. I can actually say I hate the smell of this. It reminds me of when I was younger and I had a sickness bug, but when I was poorly with the bug I wore a watermelon scented lip balm. I seriously think it put me off anything that smells like watermelon for the rest of my life! I haven't actually used this on my lips so I can't tell you how it looks but according to The Body Shop website it claims to leave soft pink colour and glossy finish.
You can probably see someone has been using this but it actually is my mum. She loves it! You can check this out here.

Next up is the Passionberry flavour. This to me just smells like blackcurrant juice. I don't mind this one, I wouldn't pick this one out of the others (excluding watermelon) but I don't mind it. It can become sickly after a little while so I do leave this one out. I thought this would leave a purple tint on my lips but I don't think it does. Maybe if you put loads on it might but I only use small amounts at a time and in my opinion it just leaves a glossy finish, no colour. You can check this out here.

Last but not least...

This is the flavour Strawberry. I also really love this one. I think I prefer the sweet berry scents, as you can see I have used this one a lot! It is definitely my go to lip pot out of all the others. Again, it isn't sickly, I can apply this 2 or 3 times a day and it doesn't bother me. Yay! This leaves my lips looking lovely and red with a high shine finish which I love. I would recommend this to sweet berry lovers like me.

Overall, I think some of the Born Lippy lip balm flavours could be made to smell a lot nicer, however some of them smell amazing and leave lips looking wonderful. One thing that bothers me about these products is the texture. I am more of a lipstick girl rather than a lip gloss girl. I don't really like anything sticky on my lips. (I do realise that can be read in the wrong way but I strongly don't mean it to be haha). I think I will only continue using the Strawberry and Raspberry ones and give the others to my sister and mum. They are a great present for somebody if they aren't as fussy as me... Another thing, the price is really good, only £2.

Thank you so much for reading guys,

All About The Monochrome (Haul)

Hey guys, so I know it has been a while but in the space between my last post and this post I have been very poorly and very busy planning exciting things!

I am back today with a haul post. I hope you enjoy!

Now, before I start rambling on about everything I bought I will just let you know that monochrome is for me, the best type of pattern/style for my figure. Some people think monochrome is boring but I completely disagree. For me, I think it is very flattering on girls who aren't stick thin. In my opinion monochrome clothing is tasteful, smart and very stylish. I am a big fan of monochrome as you will probably work out from this post!

The first thing I bought was this top from River Island. I actually saw this top on the website and my first thought was I really don't like it. I went shopping with my mum on Sunday and this was at the front of the store, I genuinely fell in love. I guess sometimes clothes look much better in person than in pictures online.

Of course it is monochrome so it does look flattering on. I also really love the back of this top, from the front it looks really quite smart and sophisticated but when you look at the back it has a slit from about mid back down the bottom. So it is all party in the back and plain at the front. The material is quite thick and as you can see from the bottom picture it has little squares just to add a little something extra. You can check this out on the River Island website 'here'

I do apologise for this picture. It was super difficult to get a good picture of this top!

I must say I have about 5 other tops from River Island pretty much the exact style as this one. Therefore, I didn't really need this but oh well... I saw this top in store and it straight away caught my attention because it looked so similar to my others, I just had to buy it. I really loved the detail of this one around the neck and chest. It looked so chic and I straight away thought it would go so well with a pair of jeans, blazer and high heeled boots! You can check this top out 'here'

Again, the quality of this picture is bad quality but the natural light just wasn't working for me today!
Anyway I bought this coat from the River Island sale and I must say it was a bargain! I have been wanting a coat like this for ages but just never found one that I loved. Until this one! It is a black/grey colour with leather panels around the back of the neck and on the bottom of the sleeves. I have the compulsory Winter Parka but I just fancied something a little lighter and more stylish. Unfortunately i can't find this on the website anymore but if you click 'here' there is one very similar and £5 cheaper.

Slightly moving off the monochrome vibe and onto the navy blues! I have been loving the loafer craze but to be honest, I never actually owned a pair until now. I actually bought these from Office in the Boxing day sales.

There were three colours in these shoes grey, cream and this navy blue and I was torn between all three but I ended buying these ones as they will go with more of my outfits. Just to warn you, these shoes hurt the first time you wear them. Trust me, I would maybe wear them around your home with a pair of socks to try break them in. I was in agony the first time I wore them...

I love the style and colour of these so much so I hope one day they won't hurt me when wearing them! You can check these out 'here' in all the colours they have.

Last but not least...

I know these are a little random but I bought these the weekend before so I thought I should include them!

Lately, some of the reasons being the weather my hair has just been looking really dry, limp and a little unhappy so I saw these and I thought they might help give it the volume it wants. I can honestly say I have been using the dry texturising spray religiously ever since I bought it. I haven't used the like watery spray yet as I have been obsessed with the other one.

It gives my hair the lift it needs and makes it look fuller, healthier and much more alive than it was before! I am so happy I bought these.  You can check them out 'here' and 'here'

That guys is all the things I have bought in the past month.

I have lately been trying to save my money so in my opinion I haven't been too bad and everything I bought didn't break the bank so it is all good!

Thank you so much for reading.

What's In My January Make Up Bag

Hey guys, today I am doing a beauty post for you! As you can probably tell by the title this is my January make up bag contents. New year, new face is my motto. Hope you enjoy...

The make up bag itself was actually a Christmas present from my dad (obviously) from Victoria's Secret. I must say when you work for VS you see so many products you want that when you get home that is all you can talk about, when I first saw this I loved it and mentioned to my family that I would like it. This is a limited addition make up case as it is a fashion show product so they are only around for a limited period of time. I am lucky I got first dibs!

Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara - This mascara I have to say has been in my make up bag since I started blogging last year. It is by far my favourite mascara and believe me, I have tried many!
My eyelash curlers are actually from Primark for £1 and they are also the best I have ever owned.

Sleek Brow Kit in Light - Again, this has been in my make up bag since I started blogging, but what can I say? It is such a great eyebrow kit and has lasted for ages! You seriously can't go wrong it keeps my eyebrows looking fuller, shaped and darker throughout the day.

Now, some new additions to my new make up bag -

These lipsticks in my opinion are the best sort of shades to kick start a new year. We are still in Winter and these darker shades of purple and pink are just right.

Swatches -

Top - MAC Girl About Town
Bottom - Kiko Orchid

The L'Oreal Super Liner is my ultimate eye liner. I adore this product and this will be in my make up bag forever! It creates the perfect cat eye for day and night time.

I only use the Rimmel Kohl Eye Pencil if I am going to a special dinner with family or friends. Throughout the day I don't really use it as I think it can make my make up look a bit to heavy. However, at night time it gives a little something extra.

For the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer I don't use this everyday nor the Collection cover up stick. I only use concealers if I really feel I have to. For example, I had to work New Years Day this year and after New Years Eve, using concealer is a necessity haha!

A new product to my January Make Up bag, the Simple Corrector Pen. I absolutely love this product as any mistakes I make with my make up, for example if I go a little to high with my cat eye flick this simply wipes it away and basically corrects it! It is seriously a gift from god.

That has brought you to the end of this blog post...

I really hope you enjoyed this post and has given you some ideas for the perfect face this month!

Some of the things Santa brought me for Christmas...

Hey guys! I know I haven't been on my A game for blogging lately as i'm sure most of you will have read in my last post. However, now I am back and I am so excited to pick up where I left off.

Disclaimer - So just to let you know I am in no way bragging about the things I kindly got given for Christmas. In my opinion I absolutely love reading and seeing people posting about what they got for Christmas as I am a naturally nosy person, I also think it gives you inspiration as to what to get people next year. It basically helps me get ideas for what to buy for my family and friends when next year comes around! I hope this gives you some inspiration too.

The gifts I am going to show you are the ones that really really are special to me and made me appreciate my family and friends just that little bit more. Don't get me wrong, all the gifts I got given are amazing and I love every single one of them, but we all know there are just some gifts that could make you cry with happiness.

Right, first off my best friend Anna bought me a book that i'm sure very female beauty and fashion blogger will know about...

Of course... Girl Online! I have followed Zoe Sugg (Zoella) for absolutely ages so obviously when I unwrapped this I was so happy so Anna I thank you!!

Another present from Anna were a load of pictures of me and her. We recently figured out that we have been friends for 3 years which was so exciting and special. When I opened the photos I honestly just started crying I loved them that much. I bought a scrapbook for the photos and stuck the pictures in myself, the ones I am showing you are a couple of my favourites...

Anna also bought me some Lush products which I also very much loved. She knows me so well!

Another thing I got for Christmas...

Perfume. Me without perfume is a recipe for disaster. I always have to have some perfume on me all day everyday or else I get upset. Me and perfume are like two peas in a pod. This year I got given Cheryl's new perfume Storm Flower. I am obsessed with super sweet scents and this is lovely and sweet, therefore the perfect scent for me. My mum chose well!

Next up,

The beauty that is MAC and the beauty that is my wonderful sister! This is (sadly) my first ever MAC lipstick... I tend to buy all my make up in America as it works out a lot cheaper and as I am a full on American lover, anything I buy in the US is special to me. I never got round to buying lipsticks from MAC as I was in a phase of Revlon chubby sticks that I swore by. My sister Vanessa bought me this and I am so grateful! This is the shade 'Girl About Town'. I am sure if you have been reading my blog for a while you know I am all about strong pinks. This is perfect for me.

I have a swatch of this colour for you -

The last couple of things I got were from my mum and dad...

These incredible boots. I love, love, love these. I saw them a while back in River Island but back then they were super expensive so I had to leave them behind! However recently I saw they had gone in the sale by half price and I mentioned them to my mum and she got me them! I was a very happy bunny!

I am sure you have probably read about how I am obsessed with anything American. This having the American flag clearly got my attention when I unwrapped it. I have just had my bedroom done and I have finally got a double bed... Finally!! That was also a Christmas present so this cushion just finished it off perfectly.

One other thing I haven't mentioned is that the camera I took these pictures on was my main Christmas present which I was so so over the moon about.

Christmas is a time where all your family comes together and yes I know presents are a big thing but it is not all about presents. It is about the love and appreciation of family and friends and presents are just a gesture of those feelings.

I really hoped you enjoyed this post and gave you some inspiration for presents this time next year.

Thank you so much for reading this post...

Did you get anything amazing for Christmas?
